The citizens of Anima has been put under a evil curse that seems to be permanent. Tens years ago the citizens of Anima was watching a meteor shower on night. A great festival was taking place but a horror-able accident happened. And meteor started to head for the town but some reason the meteor was pulled into the forest and crashed setting most of the woods into a deep storm of purple fire. The following morning all the citizens had forgotten the past night and every night and day before. That night had wiped away all the memories of the citizens.

With the crash the barrier between the world of humans and monster disappeared. Setting loose monsters in the forest monster's that could easily kill any human with the slightest of ease.

So the town in itself created a school where citizens could master the art of weapons and magic so they could feed off the monsters so that they couldn't enter the town.
